New Mail Notifier just stopped working, reinstalling didn't get it working again?

If you are installing New Mail Notifier for the first time and it isn't working please try the steps in the "I have started Outlook and received a new e-mail and I still don't see the New Mail Notifier window?" knowledgebase article first.

Here are the steps:

1) Restart your computer (don't open Outlook once you have restarted Windows)

2) Find outcmd.dat Use the Window Find tool, under Windows 2000 or XP it should be in this folder, where is the name you log into Windows with C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

3) Rename to outcmd.old

4) Open Outlook

5) See if New Mail Notifier works
